The shirt dress
Uma peça que considero essencial no guarda-roupa é sem dúvida o vestido casmiseiro. O melhor amigo do Verão, pronto para o dia e para a noite, adequado a qualquer circunstância, combina com qualquer calçado e adaptável a todos os níveis de confiança (ao contrário do vestidinho justo): um dos melhores investimentos, que não desilude. Este vestido, por Equipment, é simplesmente perfeito e não resisti em adaptá-lo a um evento mais formal e ao dia-a-dia, versão fim de semana, descontraído.

One of the essential items in a wardrobe (how many more essentials could you have?!): the shirt dress. I'm a huge fan, I consider it to be Summer's best friend, around the clock, goes with any kind of shoes (what more do we need?). It is amazing how throughout the years it hangs on to all fashion-crashes, regardless the season. This one, by Equipment is just perfect. So I could not help but style it with some of my favs, the perfect weekender-mood, from a relaxed brunch to a downtown dinner. You can find these and some other pieces that I like (kind of a not-so-real wish list) on a selection that I update here.

Barelegged winter
Este conjuntinho não tem NADA de low cost, confesso...aliás, os brincos são! iuppi! :) Aqui estão algumas das peças que queria partilhar pelo simples facto de considerar que são maravilhosas. Aqui estão algumas das marcas-referência para mim: maje e sandro, que transmitem optimamente a subtileza rock do estilo francês, com um toque retro. Daí a escolha da Alexa Chung como musa de uma delas (maje). A camisa de seda, uns calções em tweed... que é preciso mais para ser feliz? Talvez uma ou duas coisinhas :)
This is a NON low cost style, I admit... well, actually the earrings are quite low cost, yey! Here are some pieces that I want to share with you for the simple fact that I love them. Here are two of my favorites brands: maje and sandro, both French, both with that subtle rocker attitude with a retro feel. This being said, it is quite understandable why one of these brands (maje) chose Alexa Chung as their muse. The silk shirt, tweed shorts.. what else do we need to me happy? maybe a couple of other things.. :)

"Shopping cart syndrome"
Há uns tempos atrás li um post muito engraçado (by man repeller) sobre o síndrome do carrinho de compras, sobre aqueles breves momentos em que sentimos o poder de ter no nosso carrinho de compras online um artigo estrondosamente luxuoso que nós sabemos que não vamos comprar, um momento de fantasia, de super-poderes, de luxúria e de surrealismo. A indulgência sem culpa de segurar o artigo no carrinho, como se fosse nosso, como se mais ninguém pudesse comprar, porque pertence ao nosso carrinho (e as pessoas lá evitam tirar coisas do nosso carrinho..). E depois a satisfação de não comprar, de ser razoável, a justificação para não o fazer, o racionalismo, o sentir que temos poder sobre as nossas acções. No fim de contas, a decisão certa foi tomada. Vá lá. Ao menos controlamos os impulsos, ao contrário dessas milionárias que por aí andam, que galdérias, não conseguem segurar os 1500€ na carteira. Ah, mas nós sim. ehehe. Que bom que é resistir à tentação da compra online. E ao vivo, como é? Cometer o crime de experimentar uns Jimmy Choos, a mala objecto de obsessão da Givenchy, os ténis da Sandro que namoro há meses? Ah pois, agora aguenta-te.

It feels so good to control the online buy impulse. And when it comes to live decisions, how do you cope? The criminal decision to try Jimmy Choos, that bag your're obsessing about, those sneakers from Sandro that you're craving for months? Oh well. Going gets tough.

On my mind
Em Outubro as lojas estão no pico das aquisições da rentrée e o tempo começa a ajudar um pouco, ou chove, ou descem uns graus.. bem, não será ainda completamente o caso, já que este Verão teima em ficar, mas o agouro de dias de Inverno já desperta a vontade de comprar casaquinhos que, ainda assim, são de meia estação e muito versáteis para climas quase descaradamente tropicais como o nosso.
Assim, a pensar num Outono suave, cá vão algumas peças que andam a pairar na minha mente (sim, quase a assombrá-la mesmo! :)
October has just started and by now all stores are at their season-peak. Finally the weather is a bit more "Autumnish", and suddenly rain is settling down.. well, actually this is not quite true, since this year we're facing an endless summer, but the promise for Autumn days awakes the will to buy versatile jackets, great for this not-summer-not-autumn weather. Thinking on this, here's my very own selection /wishlist of items that are on my mind.. perhaps even haunting my mind :)

Os botins da Hoss Intropia. Os botins de atar, ai os botins de atar, ando mesmo a ver se arranjo uns bonitos, sem grandes confusões e confortáveis. Estes foram uma esperança vã, visto que não vieram para Portugal e não estão disponíveis para venda no site. Alguém vai a Barcelona ou Madrid em breve? eheh
Lace up boots by Hoss Intropia. How much do I have to post about lace up boots?! Well, I'm just looking for the perfect pair, no big fuss, but yet so hard to find! When I saw these on Hoss Intropia's website I thought "This is it, finally", to soon realize that these boots are available neither in Portugal nor onlina. Damn. Anyone flying to Madrid or Barcelona soon? ahaha.
Ténis by Sandro. Devo ter sido UNICA pessoa no mundo que depois de comprar os ténis em cunha pretos da Zara, decidiu devolvê-los à loja. Passo a explicar. Ficavam bem? Sim. Eram confortáveis? Imenso! Usava-os para o trabalho? Não. Usava-os para o fim de semana? Sim, lá de vez em quando. Usava-os para o ano? Só Deus sabe. Ora bem, ténis por ténis, mais vale comprar uns mais "normais", com pormenores e com os quais eu possa combinar um blazer, uma saia, enfim.. (sim, sim, eu sei que com os outros também dava... eu é que não estava perfeitamente sintonizada..!) Ou seja, a comprar, que seja para comprar um upgrade aos all-stars e não um par justamente para o mesmo efeito. Expliquei-me bem? Provavelmente não :)
Sneakers by Sandro. I believe I was the only human on earth to return my zara's wedge sneakers. I'll explain. Do I like them? Yes! Are them comfortable? A lot! To be worn to work? No. Weekends? From time to time, yes. Nex year? How knows?! OK, this was not enough for me. So, sneaker-wise, I would rather try an upgraded version of my inseparable all stars, that I can use with blazer, skirt, well.. (I know that this could be also possible with the wedge-ones, maybe I just wasn't tunned...). Mmm... did I explain myself ? Maybe not :)
Calças da Massimo Dutti: as primeiras com um toque lamé num tom bronze e as segundas cinzentas em tweed. Ambas lindas com os pumps de camurça, que também estão debaixo de olho. Não sei se os achei o supra-sumo do conforto (tou assim para o obcecada com este asunto), ainda a decidir se sim ou não! Mas não vi nenhumas das calças na loja, mas gostava de ver, de facto nas imagens parecem muito bonitas e versáteis para o Outono-Inverno.
Massimo Dutti trousers: first pair with a shinny finishing, and the second pair in a black-white tweed. Both lovely to use with the sued pumps, also under my radar. Still not sure if they're quite comfort (obsessed with that). Only saw these trousers online, maybe I'll try them on my next visit to the Store.
