White. Baby Blue. Repeat.

Já nem sei bem quantas vezes usei esta camisa branca. Muitas. E em contextos tão diferentes. Mas este será o meu favorito: a camisa branca XL, em modo verão, combinado com os calções  azul claro XL, que comprei sem sequer experimentar. Há coisas que simplesmente alinham com o nosso estilo. E, quer dizer.. camisa XL e calções XL grita Verão 2014 por todo o lado, graças a este senhor :)

Quanto ao que me rodeia... outro local absolutamente fantástico, com uma das vistas que mais me toca: o mar visto da falésia. De cortar a respiração, aqui. E o nasi goreng? É uma delícia! ;)

I lost my count for how many times I wore this shirt. So versatile. But this one is my favorite: summer mode, with oversized shorts. These I bought without even trying them on - you know somethings just get along with our style really well. Plus, Summer XL shorts and shirts? Blame it on this sir! :) 

The surrondings.. well, I can say that they're pretty amazing, with one of my fav views: the sea from the cliff. Breathtaking. And the nasi goreng? Delicious!!

Poolside

Dias leves, momentos passados num limbo entre o sonho e a realidade. À beira de uma piscina deliciosa, só nossa, a usar a minha túnica favorita. Foi um presente muito especial, da minha irmã, pensadinho para estes dias, mas vai sem ser dúvida  uma excelente companheira naqueles fins de tarde à beira-mar, quando teimamos em ficar até o por-do-sol a ver o mar. Em jeito de boas vindas ao Verão, imagino os dias longos, o cheiro a mar e o sal na pele. Ahhh. :)

Days so smooth that you can almost believe there's a middle-Earth between dream and reality. At the poolside, wearing my favorite poolside outfit. A special gift from my sister, thinking about these days, that will be a good friend for those long Summer days, waiting for the sunset at the beach, salty skin and seewater mist. Longing for those days.. again :)

Back to black

Mesmo com sol e praia, não resisto ao preto. Em jeito de eco do post anterior: quem é que sobrevive ao Verão sem um vestido preto? Eu sei que eu não :) 

Este vestido preto foi paixão imediata: as costas abertas, o pormenor da renda, o tecido pesado que cai com algum movimento, tudo me agradou. 

Bring me sunshine and still I crave black. It's the last post on repeat: who survives Summer without a black dress? I know I don't :) 

This black dress was an immediate crush: the open back, the lace, the heavy fabric with the perfect movement, so appealing.

The great escape

Há sítios tão intensos, que apelam a todos os sentidos. Estive em modo deslumbramento durante algum tempo até conseguir deixar-me ficar. Um sítio fora de série, em Uluwatu, Bali, precisamente aqui.
Quanto ao vestido, bem.. quem é que sobrevive ao Verão sem um vestido crú ou branco? Eu sei que eu não :)

Such an intense place, that all your senses wake up and sing. I was in an "wow" mode for a while before I just lay down and appreciate without all the overwhelming. A place in Uluwatu, Bali, exactly here. 
As far as the dress is concerned, who survives Summer without an ivory or white dress? I know I don't ;)

Tennis inspired dress

As t-shirts polo foram uma presença marcante da adolescência da minha geração, principalmente com riscas ou com tons pastel, e o eterno branco, que se usavam abaixo da linha do umbigo. As combinações azul-branco-vermelho faziam as delícias dos rapazes, mas também das raparigas.
Estava secretamente à espera que voltassem, mais polidas, menos pastel WASP, mas mais anos 70, em malha (já viram esta?), ou então sob a forma de vestidos com linha em "A", a lembrar os vestidos de ténis. Quando vi este vestido max and co a 70% na pop-up-store de setembro de 2013 (?! já tem assim tanto tempo?), sorri para dentro. E cá está ele, também em Bali, mais precisamente no The Legian em Seminyak, vestido de verão, com cunhas de rafia.

Polo shirts were of the hallmarks of my teen and pre-teens years, first in pastel shades, the eternal white, then with stripes, specially in red, blue and white. Boys and girls had them, but we wore ours just beneath the umbilical line (ok, back then it looked cool). I was secretly waiting for them comeback, so, last year I was happy to see them in a more polished (have you seen this one?) , but still a bit WASP, resembling  tennis oufits. 
As soon as I saw this max and co dress with 70% discount (?! last september), I knew I had to take it home with me. And here it is, in Bali, to be more precise at The Legian in Seminyak, with rafia sandals, dressed in Summer.

Green on Green

Se já no meu dia-a-dia do corre-corre gosto de simplificar o visual, em férias, tudo o que é mais directo-ao-assunto ganha. Não consigo colocar 10 pulseiras bonitinhas nos braços, fazer tranças no cabelo nem sobrepor colarzinhos étnicos. Gosto de ver, aliás, gosto muito, mas nas férias geralmente acordo de sopetão, com vontade de sair e explorar, de tomar pequenos almoços vagarosos e minimizar o tempo frente ao espelho e de volta da mala. Neste dia de passeio em Ubud, onde imperaram o verde com tons de amarelo dos campos de arroz -Tegalalang, imperdível- e o cinza-pedra do templo de Gunung Kawi -o meu favorito aqui em Bali - foram muito matchy-matchy com a minha escolha de visual, o meu simples vestido verde, dos ombros aos pés, de algodão e, claro, o chapéu de aba larga (fui até hoje uma mestre na arte de desviar o sol da face, a ver se me porto bem nos próximos 2 dias!) 

If I'm a basics kind of girl when it comes to my looks, you can only expect that on my vacations, I take that to the maximum. I really like to see ethnic bracelets and silver necklaces stacked into a tanned skin, I don't do that when I'm away. Usually on those days, I wake up in a hyper state-of-mind, just to slowly take those magnificent hotel breakfast while planning the day. So, less time around the suitecase and the mirror, really. 

In this particular day, exploring Ubud, I was matching the scneario, with shades of green and the stone-grey tone, totally in my comfort zone. If in Bali you have to stop by Tegalalang to appreciate the stunning view to the paddy rice fields and also stop by the Temple of Gunung Kawi, carved into the a cliff face.
