Dressing in layers

O frio do Inverno não tem passado despercebido e a estratégia é um clássico: camadas sobre camadas, com um claro domínio das malhas. Este ano, as calças de cintura subida (totalmente banidas do meu actual guarda-roupa), as golas altas brancas (sim, tãaao colar cervical há 4 anos atrás e tão apetecíveis actualmente) e o casaco de malha cinza sem botões são apostas ganhas. Mais: as adidas gazelle. Sim, mais ténis, por favor, que são sempre bem-vindos :)

Winter has been cold on our bones and the recipe is an oldie: dressing with layers. This year, knits on knits - don't forget about the white turtleneck ( a fashion crime 4 years ago) and the buttonless grey coat, two must-haves for this season. Plus, the high-waisted jeans (totally banned from my current wardrobe) and adidas gazelle. More tenis, please, more than welcome :)

Camel

Este casaco de lã camel tornou-se rapidamente um aliado do Outono: óptimo para sobreposições com malhas, leve mas quente, ombros descaídos e o comprimento perfeito. Gosto de o combinar com cores do mesmo tom: camel, cinza, tabaco. Aqui, num visual que é todo conforto: ténis, calças de flanela, camisola de gola subida. E de seguida, explorar Copenhaga :) 

This camel coat was quick fix to my Autumn wardrobe: great for layering, warm yet light, dropped shoulder sleeves and just the perfect length. I like to match it with similar hues: tobacco, camel, grey. In this particular day, it was all about comfort: tennis, flannel trousers, high neck knit. Perfect for exploration mode in Copenhagen.

Oversized

Não será novidade para quem vem espreitar este blog que o corte masculino é um dos meus fracos. A sensação de "puxa daqui, puxa dali, ajusta acolá" de uma peça justa tira-me da zona de conforto e faz-me rapidamente perder a paciência. Aqui, abusei. Peguei nas minhas peças oversized e lá fui eu, passar um domingo despreocupado. Como deve ser. 

If you from time to time, stumble in this blog, you may know by now that the masculine fit is one of my favorites. So here I am totally in my comfort zone. Too much, maybe, with my oversized coat, shirt and boyfriend jeans. Perfect for a lazy Sunday.

Por vezes não há fórmula, é deixar a vida tomar o seu curso sem grandes debates internos. Agora em modo "extrapolação para o fútil modelito", cá vai: branco, preto e cinza. Simplesmente deixar a minha natureza seguir a sua visceral preferência. Com duas peças da nova colecção (e sim, o meu jejum de compras mantém-se, foram mesmo prendinhas de alguém especial!) que fazem sentido agora: as calças de pele (falsa) mas de boa qualidade e o camisolão estilo poncho, tão típico meu, que até daqui a 20 anos estou a comprar um assim bem parecido. Curiosamente, enquanto procurava links destas peças, reparei que a camisola está combinada com as mesmas calças no visual da Zara. Alguém como eu que sabia que havia alguém por aí como eu. ;)

Sometimes there's no formula, you just have to let life take its course without struggle. From thoughts to clothes, here's a sum of it: black, white and grey. Following my gut with 2 pieces from the Zara Spring-Summer collection (still fasting though, they were gifts from a special someone): the faux leather trousers that have a good quality (and price!) to it and the jumper with wide sleeves, so typical of me that in 20 years from now this is something I may still buy. 
Curious to realize during my link-search that this same jumper was paired with this same trousers, at Zara's website. It takes one to know one :)

The day has come

Chegou o dia das Stan Smith. Eu mordi a lingua/falanges 3 vezes antes de escrever este post, mas não deu. Teve de ser. Mas o destino é irónico mesmo. Primeiro, desabafei, depois indignei-me, depois conformei-me. Mas lá estão elas, depois de mais de um ano de procura, à venda para toda a gente ver. Nos pés da Phoebe, da Caroline, da Camille e até da Gisele.
Mas eu tenho uma promessa para manter. E também tenho uma alternativa adidas bem catita (aqui).

So finally the day arrives. I try not to obsess about it, but look how ironic fate is. First, I talked about it, then I  got a bit annoyed, then I settled. But here they are, quirky as ever, after more than one year looking, available for sale on the period of time that I am on my quote "shopping-fasting" moment. If you want to take a fashion-ride from Phoebe, Caroline, Camille and even Gisele, just take the next step and open your wallet. I have a promise to keep and a cool alternative option (here).

Dear marketing

  My Adidas and his Nikes. A date in white. 

Ser vítima de marketing é um acto involuntário, diário. Assim sendo, tudo bem, estamos todos felizes. Quando nos apercebemos que afinal existe toda uma estratégia, que nos agarra bem ali no meio, bem no ponto onde queriam que nos encontrássemos, bem.. é um pouco irritante.

Passo a explicar. Há umas semanas atrás partilhei convosco a minha frustração à procura das Adidas Stan Smith originais. Muito bem. Aparentemente, estão "bloqueadas" pela Adidas até o fim de 2013, altura em que será feito o relançamento potencialmente viral das ditas. Informação partilhada por um funcionário da Adidas, de Stan Smith nos pés. E eu a pensar: caí que nem um ratinho. Desejei, procurei, não encontrei e ainda desejei mais.

Decidi quebrar a obsessão. Como? Escolhi um par diferente (ver foto). Se vou ceder às Stan Smith quando forem relançadas? Não prometo. Adidas ganhou a dobrar. Espertos.

Being a marketing victim is somewhat involuntary. So far, so good. When you realize that you are tangled in the strategy .. well, it is kind of annoying.

I'll explain. Few weeks ago I share with you my frustration on my search for Adidas Stan Smith (originals). It seems that this model was blocked by Adidas until the end of 2013, when it is expected a viral release of these sneakers. This was the guy working at Adidas and wearing a pair of Stan Smiths told me. I thought "well, look at me, sitting at the target". I wished, I looked, I didn't find and.. I wante then even more. 

So I decided to break the obsession. How? I chose a different pair (see photo). If I'm going to break as soon as the Stan Smith are realeased? Almost positive. Doble win for Adidas. Smart.

How difficult can it be?

Hoje partilho uma das minhas buscas incansáveis obsessões de moda (totalmente 90's) ao longo de meses e meses, que até agora foram completamente frustradas. Na era do online-everything, como é que é possível não encontrar estas duas belezas?! Faz sentido? Mas enfim, cuidado que eu continuarei à procura!
